ABOUT US - Alliance SBDC
The Illinois Small Business Development Center at
the Starved Rock Country Alliance
Recognizing the critical need for SBDC services, the leadership of the Starved Rock Country Alliance designed this innovative decentralized model of the Alliance SBDC.
The Small Business Development Center at the Starved Rock Country Alliance has been established as part of a statewide network with support from city and county governments, local banks and community businesses as well as the federal Small Business Administration and Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
Our services include: one-on-one management consultations, training workshops, market research, loan packaging help, assistance with financial projections and information needed to make informed business decisions.
Workshops and training will be co-hosted throughout the Starved Rock Country region. Monthly sessions of “How to Start a Business in Illinois” will be scheduled. Topics will range from financing, marketing, new products and services, to personnel management and employee recognition, customer service, information technology, insurance and other issues.
The Alliance SBDC enables entrepreneurs and small businesses with practical information, skills, and strategies that make measurable, positive impact on the performance of their businesses and, by extension, on the communities in which they work.
The Alliance SBDC exists to strengthen our economy through the delivery of high quality, in-depth, and effective business consulting to existing and start-up businesses, creating both wealth and jobs.
We believe our clients have needs and are willing to learn. We know they are entrepreneurial in spirit. We believe our clients are valuable as individuals to us and to the regional, state, and national economy.
We believe small business is the life-blood of our regional economy. We believe business owners must reduce the risk of business ownership as well as accept the responsibilities associated with the opportunity of owning a business.
We believe our roles are to coach, connect, and educate our clients and that we must be open, positive, and knowledgeable in this endeavor. We provide assistance, but do not do our clients’ work. We are also a link to other resources and partners with other business assistance service providers.
Service – To us this means making a difference in our clients’ lives by offering valuable, timely, and meaningful assistance. We make ourselves available to them, and we are courteous and professional.
Quality – We will offer uncompromising excellence in all we do.
Integrity – We will gain the confidence and trust of our clients by keeping all proprietary information confidential and by being honest, trustworthy, and credible in all our dealings–whether we are working with coworkers, clients, or partners.
